    Airbus sells 292 planes to four Chinese airlines for $37 billion

    Airbus announced that China’s top airlines would purchase 292 planes from the European aerospace giant in a $37 billion deal. Airbus has received orders from Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, and Shenzhen Airlines for a total of 292 aircraft. Clearly the Chinese aviation market is on the road to recovery and prosperity. In a statement, Airbus said that once the relevant criteria are met, these orders will be added to the backlog. A total of 2,070 Airbus aircraft are scheduled to be in service by the end of May 2022 with Chinese operators.

    Airbus sells 292 planes to four Chinese airlines for $37 billionNew generation engines and Sharklets combined with the A320neo Family offer fuel and CO2 savings of at least 20 percent, as well as noise reductions of 50 percent, according to the statement. The A320neo Family offers unparalleled comfort in all classes, and 18-inch wide seats are standard in economy. By May 2022, more than 8,000 orders had been placed with 130 customers for the A320neo Family. Airbus has delivered more than 2,200 A320neo Family aircraft since its introduction into service six years ago, contributing to the reduction of 15 million tons of CO2 emissions.
